Building Community Through Bicycling, Commuter and High-Speed Rail

Photos from National Rail Plan hearing at the Sheraton Atlanta Downtown Hotel on May 20, 2010.  At the meeting Richard Stowe voiced the importance of achieving universal bikes on trains access.  Section 307 of the Passenger Rail Investment and Improvement Act of 2008 (PRIIA) requires the Administrator of the Federal Railroad Administration to develop a long-range National Rail Plan.   The Federal Railroad Administration is soliciting comments for the National Rail Plan at http://j.mp/railmasterplan.  Voice your support for bikes (unboxed bicycles without fees) on trains as a national rail plan priority.  Livable, sustainable communities is already one of their established objectives.  Let’s ensure that bikes on trains becomes one of the established objectives, too.
